A true lady
I have been blessed to have known for most of my life a very special lady, one of God's special children. Of all the souls, I can be sure her's made it to Heaven.

That's wonderful news!
Today I had a several texts from people that had really good news to share. It was nice to hear about the good things that had happened to them. It made me feel good to know they had a good day. It's kinda contagious I guess, other people being happy rubs off on me and then hopefully it will rub off on someone else, etc., etc. Moral of the story is I think other people's happiness is a blessing to us all.

Heal the heel
Had an event for work again tonight. It was going to be a long day in my new Bandolino nude heels. And then it happened...first time ever... I broke a heel. Luckily Dickson's Old Cobbler Shoe Repair on St. Andrew's is amazing. They really were a blessing today. My boss was nice and helpful and took my shoe for me and they had it ready in time for the event tonight. I walked around my office barefoot all day but I learned to always keep a spare set of flats handy!

Studio time
Today I was blessed to start my first project in my studio! Yay! Well it's really an order but still I got to start it in the STUDIO! Even spilled my first drop of paint, thank goodness for drop cloths.

Sleep tight
Spent all day today at home. Unpacked some boxes and got the studio almost all set up. Also got to play with new cleaning stuff and the OCD part of me is really excited about that. There were lots of blessings today for sure (including homemade egg and cheese biscuits, yum!) and tonight I'm blessed that the cat is sleeping in my bed! I'm very used to having at least one dog or cat in the bed at night and since we moved into the new house none of them would come to bed! It's not like I sleep well anyway but I sleep better when I can hear them right there. It may be the new sheets but I'll take it anyway!

Retail Therapy
Yes, today I was blessed to get to do a little shopping. We have been working and saving so hard for the new house and haven't really bought anything in forever. Shopping isn't just about the purchases it's about the experience too. The people, the conversations, and the company are the important parts. So even though it may be a "1st World" problem to not hit the local mall every week, to me it's is a blessing got get in a little retail therapy once in a while.

Don't worry, be positive!
TGIF! Looking forward to the weekend. Today was peaceful compared to yesterday (which is a blessing all of it's own). As I've mentioned before I'm trying really hard to have a positive attitude. I am realizing that other people's positive attitudes are a blessing as well. Nice, positive, giving people really can make a difference. Hopefully I can pay it forward.

Lemony Snicket must have scripted the day
It's days like today that I need this blog. I need to find the positives and try and put my worries in God's hands. I need to realize that no matter how craptastic my day was (and believe me it was craptastic) that there are always people having worse days and I am lucky to just be here.
We had two events at work today, very rarely do we ever have more than one a day. It was important that the last one be a success. The details leading up to the event that started at 7pm aren't pertinent to the story so I'll just leave it as they were abnormal. Setup at the event location was at 6, when I got there they were not prepared for us, apparently a miscommunication. After a few other bumps in the road and only half the RSVP's showing up the prospect of a successful event seemed to be circling the drain. However at the end of the night we ended up scheduling about 75% of the turnout to have actual office appointments. Somehow we pulled it off and were blessed to have a successful event. The night turned out to be a blessing after all. Now, it's time to relax and get some rest.

Breathe of fresh air
Today the weather was nice and the sun was shining. After the cold and snow the warm was so nice. It was a blessing to be able to enjoy the fresh air while playing a fun tennis match tonight. Getting out like that always makes for a good night's sleep!

To be and the turtle rug
Today I was blessed to be able to come home after work and just be home. It was nice to piddle around the house, open deliveries, and put stuff together. Even nicer to sit on the new couch and play with the fur babies. Pretty excited about the new turtle rug as well. Real food has been pretty awesome too. Our new home is such a God's blessing and being able to enjoy it is one too!

Another 3-fer
Ok, so now that all our stuff is actually in one location and I can stop for a few seconds I'll get back on track. It's been 3 days so I'll do 3 blessings!
First, TV is a blessing. Not a necessity and it's not like the world will fly off it's axis without it but it is a blessing. Not having it for a few days made me appreciate it again. TV time is down time, a chance to choose the level of intensity my brain wants at that moment. It can be educational, emotional, and of course entertaining! Tonight it will be cartoon time!
Second, getting to share special days with friends. Saturday a lovely group of women got together to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of a dear friend. Being part of that special night for her was not only fun but a priviledge and a blessing.
Third, I'm blessed to know someone that will spend her whole day helping us move last minute stuff, drag out trash, wait for deliveries and jump my car when I'm stupid enough to drain the battery while we are trying to move...at night...in the cold...

The great escape
Today the city began to come alive again. The ice is melting and the temperatures are climbing. Getting out this morning wasn't easy and definetely slow but I was blessed to be safe driving and out again. I saw several stuck cars along the roadside. It was nice to be able to get somewhere, even though I really am anxious to get the house together!

Snow, ice, a new home, and lots of blessings.
Haven't blogged in a couple days so I'm going to talk about 3 blessings tonight, and have more pictures. I did, however, have a good reason for taking a mini-break. We bought a house! And moved! During ice-mageddon! Seriously, the south is not designed for this crap. I am not designed for this crap. I moved away from it and it followed me 15 years and 3 state lines to help me move again.
This brings me to the 1st blessing of the night. The movers were amazing and came a day early to make sure we got our furniture in time. They could've postponed us but instead they rushed for us. It was a slow process but they were super careful and our furniture is great. Unfortunately they got stuck in the yard before they could load so that caused a delay but still, awesome job. I would totally recommend them.
I have said before how blessed I am to have such wonderful friends. There is no way we could have got this house or made this move without them. One of my friends was our realtor. FABULOUS. Absolutely fabulous. We are picky and ask tons of questions, I tend to stress, and she handled everything perfectly. Can't thank her enough. Another friend works for the company that got us our mortgage loan. She referred us to a spectacular agent, made sure everything was understandable and smooth. She's a wonderful person with a beautiful heart. During Tuesday's rush to move two friends brought a trailer and helped us load all the boxes. It was cold, snowing, muddy, and hard work but they toughed it out and helped so much. Don't know what we'd have done without them. Not to mention my awesome friends that stockpiled boxes for us!! Another friend was prepared to spend all day Wed. At the new house to help with the fur babies and technicians, deliveries, etc. Of course when all the scheduling changed and the ice shut Columbia down she didn't need to come but the fact that she was willing meant a lot. Other friends and family were asking how things were going and checking on us all day. Everyone's support has been amazing.
Third, we are blessed to have our new house! There is still a lot of stuff left at the old house because of the weather that we still have to get and there is lots of snow and ice in our new yard but we bought a house! I'm so happy to have our own place. It's a blessing long in the making and a wonderful gift, so thankful.

The house with the red door
Okay. Praying there isn't a major winter vortex sucking up the south again. So, I'm going to write tonight assuming all goes as planned and this is the last night we spend in this house as we are closing on our new house and starting a new chapter in the morning. For the last 12 years I've been blessed to have this particular roof over my head. This house came as a blessing during a tough time and it has been a part of our lives through many life events. These walls have seen many faces, heard many conversations, and been a part of many memories. This home has been a blessing I will hold in my heart forever.
Now, pray for no snow!! Please!! ;).

Eeeeeee!
Keeping it short tonight. Getting ready for an exciting week full of blessings. So lucky to have supportive friends and family! That feeling of excitement and anticipation is a blessing. Being able to share it with others is too! Please pray for no snow!!

The calm before the exciting storm
As we are preparing for a crazy busy, albeit exciting, week I was blessed to get to have a little break to purchase a few items, run some errands, and have some downtime with the fur babies. Molly's (our basset) anxiety has been acting up this week and she needs a little extra attention. Almost have all these boxes filled! Just a few to go, think they will wait till morning now. Looking forward to sharing the upcoming week's events!

Have a seat
Happy Friday!! Tried to donate some furniture today and we found out that unless they are basically in perfect condition you can't, in fact, donate furniture items. I figured missions and places that could use furniture would at least try and reupholster items that were useable. I was a little disappointed in this, it's such a pity and a waste because a stain or tear doesn't mean it's not warm and sit-able. I see now that furniture is a blessing. Picking the right couch and chair and positioning them so the Feng Shui of the room is correct is such a 1st World problem. I really am blessed to be able to sit on furniture and not the hard ground and eating at a table sure beats the floor. It's easy to see material worth and forget the function and purpose. Furniture is another daily amenity that I have taken for granted many times and am thankful to be blessed with.

30-Love
My tennis team is amazing and I'm so lucky to be part of such a wonderful
group of women! We may not always win on the court but we have fun. Doesn't hurt that knocking the crap out of the ball can be therapeutic too ;). It's very random how we all ended up together and it really is a blessing!!

A series of events... Not unfortunate
I think it's neat the way things fall in place. God works in mysterious ways and I think that goes for big and small things. For example a very important appointment had to reschedule today. Thought this was going to be a problem but the next appointment showed up earlier than expected. Out of no where another client called and needed to come in and it turned out to be a very successful appointment. Had the very first not rescheduled everything else wouldn't have fallen in place.
Now these weren't my appointments they were my bosses but it got me thinking. What a blessing that everything fell into place for him like that. How many times have I looked over blessings like that? God has a reason, how many times have I not looked past the "1st appointment cancellation" to see the positive that followed, the blessing. So today I'm blessed to have noticed this chain of events and realize I need to open my eyes a little more. ;)

Patience is a virtue
Posess it if you can
Seldom in a woman
but never in a man.
Posess it if you can
Seldom in a woman
but never in a man.
- Piers Plowman
Patience is a blessing I can always use. Normally I'm very short on it but today I was blessed to have enough and to be reasonable as a result. As the busy season at work is just getting started I need all I can get. I can always pray for patience and thank God when I have it.
Patience can be a blessing in other ways too. Good things come to those who wait! ;)

The 8th Dwarf Snotty
Today's blessing may seem silly (& gross) and it may not seem like much of a blessing to you but I guarantee it is a blessing to me...and the man in front of me in church this morning.
I actually am enjoying this packing and
purging thing but it's wreaking havoc on my allergies. My nose has been running like a faucet all day. I'm not sick, I'm allergic. So I'm putting the Kleenex box to work today. Since the invention of these little booger catchers they have been taken for granted. I mean, much better than a sleeve right? And I'm not forgetting handkerchiefs that have been around forever either but it's 2014 and I'm not a dude so my blessing is tissues.
First my nose is happier when wiped by something soft but they are disposable and therefore cleaner. They are also very handy in time of a mucous crisis. This is the somewhat humorous part of this blessing story. I was kneeling in church this morning and the older man in the pew in front of me wasn't fully kneeling and basically leaning forward in a sitting position. This put me very close to his back and I was somewhat hovering over him. Did I mention it was a special celebration in church this morning so there was incense too? Well the faucet turned on, my head hanging dangerously close over this unsuspecting mans back. Luckily I was able to quickly grab my handy tissue and prevent a flood on his jacket but I couldn't help but think what would have happened if I didn't get that tissue in time! It may seem silly but tissues are definetely a blessing!!

Lexi Coal
My boy is 14 today! He has been a blessing since we tried to keep him in the dorms which of course didn't work. I love his nonchalant attitude and him!!
