Early celebration

Today I was blessed with another early birthday surprise, some beautiful flowers from the office, and a short work day!  As a result I got home early enough to spend some extra time with the fur babies, finish the table for the studio TV, and clean for the weekend!  Yay!!

In lieu of the rubber room

Today may not have been my best day, certainly not my worst, and I probably could've handled some things better (for example the blue paint water all over the uncovered carpet because I'm clutsy when aggravated) but I'm still thankful for another day.

There were a couple things that saved me from the rubber room though. We got a nice package from my cousins that certainly brought a smile to my face. Then, as I was headed upstairs, I looked up as saw this beautiful blessing:
I see the moon and the moon sees me!

Row, row, row

We had an event on the lake tonight for the, no kidding, nineteen times. Normally these events are simple but this one has been difficult for some reason.  Then about an hour into it, the boat breaks. Yup, one of the propellers stops working, something about the transmission and then the rotor. Now this is a big boat; two floors, 140 people capacity.  Not a boat that can go far on one propeller. It was a slow ride back. I was pretty irritated. Normally, had there not been previous planning issues, I would've thought things happened and oh well, but, it was just one. more. thing.  Then, after calming down, I realized it could've been much worse and what a blessing it was that we made it back safely, didn't have to be towed, everyone was happy, and the boat can be repaired so their business can continue. Everyone was smiling when we disembarked and while it didn't go as planned at least everyone is safe and the boat is afloat!

Leo season

It's another great birthday!  Today is my cousin Leann's birthday and I'm blessed to have her in my life. When I was little I loved it when she would take me swimming. That was one of my favorite things to do in the summertime. She also gives the best zerberts ;)  She's a very hard worker and a great momma, I love her very much.

Natural beauty

I was standing on the back porch today looking around at the hummingbird and the butterflies, the bees, the flowers, and the veggies with Charlie chasing them and Molly sitting beside me and I knew I was blessed. The sun finally popped out and it was starting to get humid and hot again (this is the norm for Columbia summers so it's comforting to me).  Just check out this nice crop of peppers and there are still more to come.
I easily overlook the beauty in things sometimes. Not intentionally, I just don't slow down enough to recognize the blessing of natural beauty enough.  For example, the graceful flutter of a butterfly's wings. I may not notice that if I'm running out the door to beat the clock.  The natural beauty inside people is easy to miss too.  So many people have hidden beauties.  How many smiles and waves from kind souls do we miss each day; but I know I can recognize each crazy driver or arrogant caller.  So, new goal for me, try and recognize more beauty and less gunk!!

New projects

I love Saturdays. Even when it's not football season. ;). I got to start a fun project today for the studio. It will be for the TV that goes in there next weekend.
Speaking of the studio, I made a decision for the shop today. Almost two weeks ago I was presented an opportunity by a consumer blog to have an item from my shop (of my choosing) reviewed.  I thought and thought about it and decided I would give it a shot. I spoke with the lady that runs the blog today and I'm blessed to say I will be sending her and item this week.  This could be a huge move for the shop. The social media reach can bring in lots of new business. Very exciting!!

Sleeping and cleaning

So last night I was holding my phone thinking about my post and I started to fall asleep. Hmmm. Guess I was tired.  But, it's good because I was up working on orders and Molly was helping. I was blessed with a good night's sleep AND got to sleep in till after 8 this morning!  Molly never sleeps that late.  It's easy to take a restful night for granted. Sleep is a necessity of course but when you think about it there are people that can't rest peacefully at night.  I can't imagine people in war torn areas ever fully rest. Then there are insomniacs and people with sleeping disorders. I've never been a "good" sleeper by normal standards but at least when I do sleep I feel safe and can relax.

Today was raining and abnormally under 100 degrees for August 1st. That was fine though because I got to clean most of the day. Yes, I know it's weird but...I like to clean. I get excited over cleaning supplies. With the fur babies I like to make sure the cleaners aren't too abrasive or harsh smelling. I discovered a cleaner called Natures Miracle that is all natural. It has been a great blessing. Especially since I tend to over clean sometimes. You can even use it in the laundry if you need too. They also make special all natural cat litter. Haven't tried it yet though.  Being all natural I don't worry about the fur babies inhaling it or walking through an area I just sprayed. Helps satisfy my OCD too. ;)
